Anonymous asked: Does theology play a role in which philosophies you enjoy? Like I see you enjoy Kierkegaard (though there's certainly more to him than just religion) while you dislike St. Thomas Aquinas.

Hmm…I don’t think I’d particularly select or reject a philosophy because of its theological content. However, I grew up “vaguely Catholic,” and the guy who inspired me to study philosophy was my religion teacher at my Catholic high school, so I am interested in philosophy.

I love Kierkegaard because he is the father of existentialism, which is my specialty, so I owe a lot to him. I mainly dislike Aquinas because of his reliance on Natural Law, of which I tend to be pretty suspicious.
